When my husband and I got married we had already discussed that we both ultimately wanted to return to Southwest Nebraska. We wanted to be close to our families, raise our kids with the same work ethic and small town feel that we grew up with and truly appreciated. Family, community and work are the foundations of who we are and we felt most fulfilled back home. We were thrilled at the prospect of coming back to good jobs and the principles that we had valued through so much of our lives. Southwest Nebraska has a lot to offer and we are happy to be part of its growth and sustainability. We didn’t just want to live in a community; we wanted to be part of it. We both work in McCook and take pleasure in what we do. I have worked in Minnesota, Illinois, New York and Iowa for extended periods of time and enjoyed what each had to offer. But none were quite like Southwest Nebraska. We haven’t looked back and love the relaxed pace that our lives now have.
