The city of McCook truly has been a blessing to our family since we moved here 7 years ago.  A desire to move back to western Nebraska and good job opportunities are what brought us into McCook.  McCook has a small town feel that we enjoy.  When we are out in the community, we are bound to run into somebody we know and chat for awhile.  We have been pleasantly surprised at the number of young families that we have met since moving to McCook.  Also, the smaller size of McCook provides a short commute to work or shopping which opens up more time for our family to be together.  Though McCook has many perks of a small town, it is also big enough to offer a variety of activities for our family.  Some of our favorite activities include going to the park, swimming at the pool, “story hour” at the library, and basketball games at the college.  As my kids get older, they will have the opportunity to try out a variety of sports and be involved in a variety of youth organizations if they so desire.  In our experience, McCook offers a bit of the best of both worlds -  a safe and friendly environment to raise our kids plus activities and organizations that provide for our family to enjoy a wealth of experiences.
